Ruth Lynch completed her student teaching at ZCMS and loved it so much that she has been teaching here since the 2007-2008 school year.  Darren Chapman assists in class several mornings a week. He is a community member who is enrolled in ZCMS's Teacher Apprentice Program, working towards his education degree.

Our "3rd and 4th Grade Team" is composed of seven third graders and four fourth graders. All of these children have been enrolled at ZCMS for at least two years now. Three families are part of our church family; one of these was recently baptized!

Third and fourth grade is a big transition time as students begin to work from textbooks, study for and take tests, write more independently, and complete homework as assigned. They also hone their reading skills with a combination of whole class literature studies and individual reading goals. This year we focus on earth science and the history and government of our local community.
